Delaney decided this morning that she was going to get herself dressed and wear a dress so she could accessorize with her princess crown, jewel necklace, and stick shoes (high heels for us commoners). She bounded down the stairs wearing a spaghetti strapped summer dress, black tights, and the crown-jewels. She was SPUN-UP and of course the weather is yucky so going out to play was not an option. Mommy and Daddy decided that the indoor playground at the mall was a SUPER idea! We loaded up the whole troop and headed to the mall…GERM CENTRAL for Devyn, but I got over it. While trying to climb the “caterpillar” at the P-ground Delaney decided she needed to take off her tights to have better footing. She shed her tights and went about her business climbing and playing and having a great time! While she was playing of course, Dylan had an ENORMOUS poopy diaper (third on the day), Devyn needed to be suctioned, and there were lots of creepy Mothers who had to come and gawk at the “cute twins in the ginormous stroller.” Needless to say, Delaney was not the center of attention. When Delaney was finished playing she came over to get her tights back on. At that moment I realized that she had “forgotten” to add underwear to her outfit this morning and had been prancing around the playground commando style…in a dress. As I quickly tried to get her tights on and hope that no one noticed, another “nice” mother came over to tell me that Delaney was playing “Free Willy” on the slide and had given all the nice ladies and gentlemen at the playground a show. Real Nice.

Have no fear mom-
I went to a national guard family BBQ.
It was in a park and there were both Troops and dignitaries present.
As hundreds of people milled around talking, the kids ran and played, waiting for BBQ serving time.
A Captain’s wife, shouted her small son’s name loud enough to stop everyone-
We all turned to look- He had stopped playing and was urinating surprised at the sudden attention.
The mom was a trooper herself, and went right on without a blush, so the crowd laughed and chow was announced.
These are standard kids growing up things, important only to adults, if at all.
